Ramrod-manufacturing, the UK based manufacturer of CV Tyre tools and safety equipment, is pleased to announce the availability to general market of the new Tire-safe Safety inflation Cage, and the re-launch and re-brand of its portfolio of associated workshop tools and safety devices.
The Tire-safe cage represents the newest product in the evolving Ramrod portfolio of Truck and CV tyre equipment, which also includes the
All-rim bead breaker and adaptor bar, the Hub-lift safe jacking point and the Wheel-riter rim and tyre lifting aid.
The Tire-safe inflation cage has been developed with input from ATS Euromaster to eradicate the risk faced by operators when inflating CV Tyres, the cage will safely contain even very high pressure failures and is the only enclosure in this field to have independent Lloyds British accreditation for its safety performance. Euromaster has already taken delivery of more than 250 Tire-safes across Europe.

Tire-safe will effectively contain the explosive failure of an up to 22.5’’ rim commercial vehicle tyre of section width up to 575mm and will contain and direct harmlessly the explosive release of pressure that occurs when either a tyre carcass or sidewall suffers catastrophic structural failure, or a rim through damage or fault, no longer retains the tyre bead.
A failure of a rim resulting in bead release is the most demanding test of a safety enclosure, as well as managing and attenuating the rapidly expanding gases and resisting the high pressure shock wave resulting from carcass failure, the enclosure will also withstand a high energy impact from an unconstrained wheel rim and tyre carcass.
The enclosure will contain and release in a controlled way, the high pressure shock wave produced when tyre failure occurs. The expanding gases will be directed upwards with no impediment, and will be released from the enclosure sides and back panels via attenuating

labyrinth construction details, where multiple changes of direction occur before the expanding gasses can exit the enclosure.
The enclosure is made from structural steel channel section welded to form a labyrinthine section to effectively manage and contain the controlled release of gas and high pressure shock wave from a tyre failure.
The top of the device is open and un-baffled to direct most of the high speed gas and pressure wave vertically out of harm’s way.
The enclosure sides, back panel and door are all welded construction to dissipate energy and expanding gases and even to withstand the extreme mechanical load of a wheel rim hitting the enclosure internally. |
